Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the East Suffolk Specialist Children's mental health team, supporting young adults aged 4-18yr. As Community Team Manager, you will provide operational oversight leadership for service delivery, working closely with the SCAMHS Triumvirate. You will be supported by a Community Matron and an Operational Manager. The role offers leadership, development, and training opportunities for professional growth. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated leader with experience in community mental health services with the under 18 age group.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing visible, values-based leadership and acting as a positive role model within the service
  • Managing and supporting the team to ensure staff are appropriately trained, informed and competent in their roles
  • Ensuring robust systems are in place for supervision, appraisal, objective setting and personal development
  • Allocating and overseeing caseloads to ensure safe practice and the effective use of resources
  • Maintaining safe staffing levels within agreed budgets
  • Monitoring team performance and contribution to Trust objectives
  • Promoting a person-centred approach that actively involves service users, families and carers in care planning and delivery

Essential criteria

  • Nursing Degree or equivalent, Dip SW, or Dip OT, or equivalent or HCPC registered
  • Able to demonstrate experience at a senior clinical level including staff management / supervision experience
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Evidence of providing leadership in a Mental Health care environment including service development
  • -Mentoring Experience
  • Competent and effective treatment skills
  • Care planning skills
  • Effective analytical and decision-making skills.
  • An understanding of the policies and guidelines both local and national e.g. National Institute for Clinical Excellence guidelines.
