Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Adult Community Mental Health Teams in Hartlepool. Key responsibilities

Essential criteria
- Appropriate professional qualification in occupational therapy role (or pending)
- Registration with HCPC (or pending)
- Experience of working in a variety of practice areas whilst on student placements (or postgraduate)
- Awareness of professional standards and their application to practice
- Understanding of the needs of service users with mental health conditions and/or learning disabilities
- Record keeping and report writing
- Collaborating with service users and carers/ families in accordance with principles of co-production
- Good observational skills and ability to describe such observations verbally and in writing
- Able to work flexibly and co operatively as part of a team.
- Delegates tasks appropriately
- Apply latest research evidence and evaluative thinking in practice
- Ability to adapt treatment using own initiative.
- Compassionate in meeting the needs of vulnerable people and their families and carers.
- Ability to work on own in a variety of settings using initiative appropriately
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to prioritise own workload
- Completion of Preceptorship programme and competency framework within 1 year of starting post (or pending)
- Knowledge and experience of the clinical area
- Must have full valid driving license and have use of a car for business purposes
Desirable criteria
- Post graduate training in relevant specialist area
- Experience of supporting people with mental health issues, learning disability or autism
- Experience of working in Multidisciplinary Team
- Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
- Knowledge of the evidence base for the clinical practice area
