Role summary
This role involves leading equality, diversity, and inclusion initiatives within the Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS) partnership. The manager will support colleagues in achieving health equity objectives, analyse and report on workforce and service data, and provide operational leadership. They will also act as a deputy to the Head of Health Equity, driving positive change and ensuring equitable opportunities for all stakeholders.

- Successful leadership record in the area of equality/ diversity/inclusion.
- Successful management, leadership and motivation of colleagues, staff and others to meet individual, service and organisational objectives.
- Positively engaging people with equality, diversity and inclusion and supporting positive change in services/organisations.
- Track record of successfully working closely with senior leaders and decision makers.
- Effectively producing and presenting reports/ information to senior management teams/boards.
- Experience of analysing complex data and intelligence and presenting this information in a clear and concise manner.

Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in mental health service.
- Project Management experience.
- NVQ Level 5 in Management or equivalent management qualification or equivalent experience.

- Successfully leading, managing and motivating staff to meet targets and service priorities.
- Effectively analyse, draft and present information including data to senior managers/decision makers.
- Efficiently work under pressure, prioritise own workload and meet timescales.
- To effectively work in collaboration with external partners, commissioners and contractors.
- Positively influence key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Successfully embed/mainstream equality & diversity into service delivery.
- Good IT skills eg Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, Microsoft word and Outlook, Teams.
- Conflict Management
- Effectively manage budgets and resources
- Expert knowledge around equality legislation, anti-discrimination practice and strategies to deliver equality of outcome.
- Knowledge of co-production and peer support in service delivery.
- A strong understanding of the current issues within health and social care with a particular knowledge around Mental Health services.
- Understanding of the causes of and solutions to Health Inequalities.
- Awareness of barriers which marginalised groups encounter when attempting to access services.
- Working knowledge of HR practice and linkages to equality and diversity.
