Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Endoscopy Health Care Assistant to join a busy Endoscopy Team. The role involves working as a Band 3 Health Care Assistant within the Endoscopy Unit and Endoscopy Treatment unit, rotating between St Helens and Whiston Hospitals. The post holder will work shifts on a 7-day working week, assisting with clinical tasks and providing patient-centred care. Candidates must have essential knowledge, skills, and experience to practice safely in an Endoscopy environment.
Essential criteria
- NVQ level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Care Certificate (equivalent to level 1)
- Literacy and numeracy functional skills level 2 or equivalent
- Knowledge and Experience
- Knowledge of personal care and related procedures
- Demonstrable experience of working in a patient care/health related role
- Knowledge of relevant legislation related to healthcare
- Experience of working in a team
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
- Good interpersonal skills
- Able to work within a team
- Experience of supporting junior staff and learners
- Able to accept direction and guidance
- Aware of own limitations
- Flexible in working hours
- Able to prioritise own workload and manage time effectively

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Health Care Assistants to join our Endoscopy team on the band 3 at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The post holder will be assigned to work in the Endoscopy Unit and in an Endoscopy Treatment unit this is on a Rotational basis between St Helens and Whiston Hospitals.
The Endoscopy unit requires the post holder to work shifts on a 7-day working week, the shift patterns are 8-4, 8.30-16.30, 10-6 and 12.30-20.30 these can be subject to change to ensure they maintain the service needs
We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated individuals with a flexible approach to working who are able to demonstrate good organisational and communication skills along with a commitment to a quality patient focused service.
