Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join the Intermediate Care rehabilitation team in Rotherham. The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide rehabilitation and aid enablement for patients across the borough. Essential criteria
- Understanding of the importance of Health and Safety in the workplace
- Understanding of the risk assessment process
- Understanding of the role of the Assistant Practitioner within rehabilitation
- Demonstrates knowledge of equipment available and able to assess and fit where applicable
- Knowledge of Clinical Governance and implications for patient care
- Able to recognise when guidance and support is required
- Awareness and understanding of relevant health and Social Care legislation
- Recent and relevant experience within a rehabilitation or re-ablement setting including community

Desirable criteria

- Relevant foundation degree or NVQ level 3 in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Care or equivalent with higher level knowledge and experience of IMC and therapy intervention.
- Knowledge of specific patient conditions, stroke, parkinsons, falls, NOF.
- GCSE English & Maths (or equivalent), Grade C/Level 4 or above
- Willingness to undertake training to meet competency framework.
- Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently between TRFT sites and for patient visits in the Rotherham area and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Job summary
37.5 Hours, Fixed Term for 12 months
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to join the Intermediate Care rehabilitation team.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team to aid enablement and provide rehabilitation to patients across the Rotherham Borough. The team includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, specialist mental health occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and therapy support workers.
The team works closely with a wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) of social workers, nurses, doctors, Unit managers, care and enabling staff and voluntary sector.
The successful candidate will hold their own caseload as well as supporting qualified staff to provide therapy for their patients throughout their time within intermediate care. The post holder will be provided with support to develop and build on competencies within the clinical setting.
The successful candidate needs to be able to work autonomously and as part of the MDT. They need to have good communication skills both verbally and non-verbally. They need to be comfortable performing personal care tasks for patients and comfortable working with patients who have complex physical, emotional and psychological challenges.
