Role summary

This is an 18-month fixed-term apprenticeship for a motivated and compassionate individual to become an Apprentice Dental Nurse. You will work 37.5 hours per week, split between a dental setting and an educational setting, to achieve a Level 3 Dental Nursing Practitioner Diploma. The role involves assisting in patient management and treatment, maintaining high infection control standards, and delivering excellent patient care. Applicants must be at least 16 years old with specific GCSE qualifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Undertake and fulfil the educational and clinical requirements of the Dental Nurse (GDC 2023) ST1431 Apprenticeship Standard.
  • Undertake the City & Guilds Level 3 Dental Nursing Practitioner (Diploma) programme.
  • Work as part of the dental team in various settings, including primary and secondary dental care.
  • Assist in the management and treatment of a variety of patients.
  • Maintain high standards of infection control.
  • Deliver excellent patient care.

MFT, University Dental Hospital, School for Dental Care Professionals are currently recruiting motivated, caring and compassionate individuals for the role of Apprentice Dental Nurse.

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and have three GCSES (Grade C/4+ or equivalent), two of these must be English and Maths, a Health & Social Care Level 2 certificate can be accepted as the 3rd qualification. You must also be able to demonstrate initiative, effective communication skills, a caring nature and a commitment to commencing your career as an Apprentice Dental Nurse.
