Role summary
This role is for a committed, patient-focused Therapeutic Radiographer to join the friendly team at Worcester Oncology Centre. As a Band 5 radiographer, you will rotate through the department, including the pre-treatment (CT) area. The centre is based in a new, purpose-built facility on the Worcestershire Royal Hospital site, equipped with modern Elekta Linacs and a Cannon wide bore CT scanner. You will be involved in the planning and delivery of radiotherapy treatment, providing support to patients and carers.
Key responsibilities
- Operate radiotherapy equipment safely and accurately, interpreting and applying radiation prescription plans.
- Be clinically competent to safely and efficiently manipulate all complex and specialised equipment associated with the planning and treatment of patients.
- Work on a rotational basis through both the pre-treatment and treatment areas of the department.
- Provide information, education, practical and emotional support to patients and carers during their radiotherapy episode.
- Participate in the training and mentoring of student radiographers.
- Take individual professional responsibility for the accurate delivery of treatment to radiotherapy patients, adhering to ionising radiation regulations.
Essential criteria
- Experience (either post grad or undergraduate) using modern Radiotherapy equipment and verification systems including CBCT
- BSc Radiotherapy or equivalent
- HCPC registration
- Knowledge of a wide range of current Radiotherapy techniques and associated requirements for patient care
- Awareness of IR(ME)R regulations and their implication for Radiotherapy practice
- Able to communicate complex or sensitive information in a manner which aids understanding and compliance (verbal and written)
- Able to work under pressure
- Caring and empathetic
- Works well as part of a team
- Able to work effectively in an emotionally charged environment
- Inspires confidence in patients and colleagues
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience / training on Elekta Linacs or Mosaiq
- Knowledge of new developments in Radiotherapy treatment and the cancer agenda

Job summary
We are looking to recruit a committed

Where are we? We are based in a
new bespoke purpose built building on the Worcestershire Royal Hospital site,
with beautiful views of the Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds. Worcester is a
thriving city on the banks of the River Severn, close to areas of outstanding
natural beauty. We have close links to the M5; Birmingham, Cheltenham and
Bristol are all within easy reach.
Who are we? We are a small
friendly team of approximately 35 radiographers. We have 3 Elekta Linacs, 2 of
which are capable of 4DXVI as well as a superficial unit and a Cannon wide bore
CT scanner as well as Raystation planning system on which youll carry out Vsim
planning. We are paper light utilizing Mosaiq which is shared with University
Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.
We strive to ensure that all
patients are treated in a supportive and calming environment. As a result, we
offer excellent facilities for patients including Radiographer led clinics as
well as site specialist radiographers.
2026 will be an exciting year for
us with the start of our full equipment replacement program as well as the
installation of SGRT.
