Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a QIS Staff Nurse or a nurse with Neonatal Unit experience to join the award-winning team at the Royal Hospital for Children. The role involves rotational shifts across ITU/HDU and SC, including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays. You will be responsible for assessing care needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, ensuring high-quality family-centred care for neonates and their families. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team in a busy level 3, 50-bedded unit.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a high standard of nursing care, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs with patient/carer involvement.
- Maintain patient records to agreed standards, ensuring high-quality record keeping.
- Contribute to care programme development and advise junior staff on complex patient treatment.
- Delegate tasks appropriately, considering individual capabilities and skill mix.
- Ensure patient care is individualised, encompassing spiritual and cultural needs of the child and family.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve shared objectives and best practice.
Essential criteria

- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Demonstrate evidence of ongoing clinical development and awareness of NHGGG policies and strategies.
