Role summary
This is a Bank Band 6 Podiatrist role within Central London Community Health Trust, offering flexible work across community podiatry services in Harrow or Brent. The role involves assessing, treating, and managing a diverse caseload, including community clinic and domiciliary patients. You will also supervise junior clinicians and mentor students, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. The position requires an HCPC-registered Podiatrist with strong communication and clinical skills.
Key responsibilities
- Work in collaboration with a team of Podiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and high-quality care for all patients.
- Monitor, supervise, and delegate podiatry services delivered by support staff, including junior clinicians and Podiatry Assistants, and mentor students during placements.
- Liaise with and refer to Highly Specialist Clinicians when necessary and appropriate.
- Be flexible to cope with a busy, varied, and demanding workload, requiring movement between sessional clinics.
- Manage a domiciliary caseload as required.
Essential criteria
- BSc Degree In Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior 1991)
- Evidence of continual professional and personal development
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
- Certificate in local anaesthesia
- Post graduate clinical experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
- Experience of working with a wide range of patient and disease / pathology types including the at-risk and high-risk foot
- Experience of working as part of a specialist team (clinical rotation experience accepted
- Knowledge of recent developments in the profession
- Full knowledge of podiatric theory and practice
- Knowledge of foot orthotic design and manufacture
- Knowledge of RCoP and HCPC codes of conduct
- Awareness of Equal Opportunities - theory and practice
- Understanding of Clinical Governance -theory and practice
- Knowledge of treatment options and skills required in the management of High risk tissue breakdown
- Up-to-date knowledge of clinical issues and treatment development
- Ability to evaluate patients concerns and needs and propose effective solutions
- Ability to undertake intricate work in using sensitive diagnostic tools and a range of surgical instruments. e.g. in the management and debridement of poor tissue viability wounds and nail surgery
- Organisational and planning skills to manage your own work time and domiciliary caseload
- To be competent in the use of treatment and diagnostic tools (including, Doppler, scalpel techniques, syringe etc)
- IT Skills including use of Internet, e-mail, Word Processing
- Performing clinical treatments in physically restricted work positions requiring repetitive fine movements
- Ability to cope with patients anxieties and employ tactical techniques in order to help support patients and allay anxieties
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of post grad training in an area of podiatry Experience
- Experience of working in an NHS environment
- Experience of clinical supervision / mentoring
- Ability to manufacture simple insoles
- Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)

Job summary
We are seeking motivated and experienced Band 6 Podiatrists to join our Bank team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work flexibly across our community podiatry services, providing high-quality care while gaining experience in a variety of clinical settings.
As a Bank Band 6 Podiatrist, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of podiatrists and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care. You will assess, treat and manage a diverse caseload, including community clinic and domiciliary patients, ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice.
You will support the development of the service by supervising and delegating work to junior clinicians, Podiatry Assistants and support staff, while also providing mentorship to students on clinical placements. Working alongside Highly Specialist Clinicians, you will recognise when specialist input is required and make appropriate referrals.
The role requires flexibility to work across different clinic locations and community settings, travelling between sites as needed. You should be an HCPC-registered Podiatrist with excellent communication, clinical decision-making and organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering outst
