Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to join the dynamic District Nursing Service as a Community Nursing Deputy Team Lead. The role involves providing leadership and day-to-day management of the Community Nursing Team, establishing communication networks with patients, carers, and other professionals. The post holder will act as a role model, exercising accountability for patient care and promoting a collective leadership culture within the trust. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care packages, and leading a team of Community Nurses.
Essential criteria
- Registered General Nurse
- Professional knowledge acquired through degree or equivalent level of experience or knowledge
- Practice Assessor
- Registered Mentor: Mentor supervisor/Assessor
Desirable criteria
- District Nursing Practitioner qualification or Non-Medical Prescribing (V300) & Advanced Clinical Skills
- Experience and knowledge
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Previous post - registration experience
- Experience of leading a team
- Experience of managing own workload/others
- Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods
- Experience and understanding of working in Community setting
- Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
- Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods

- It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid driving license and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes, or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic professional to join our dynamic District Nursing Service as a Community Nursing Deputy Team, to work alongside the team lead to provide leadership and day to day management of the Community Nursing Team. We have vacancies in Blyth, Brockwell, and Hexham, alongside other potential opportunities across Northumberland and North Tyneside.
As a deputy team lead the post holder will establish and maintain robust communication networks with patients, carers, team members, GPs and other professionals and agencies. You will act as a role model for the Community Nursing service, our patients and families exercising accountability for patient care in line the NMC code of professional conduct.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
