Role summary
This role provides comprehensive administrative support within the Research & Innovation Team, primarily based at Aintree Site. The administrator will work alongside research teams, focusing on the Approvals team, ensuring effective systems for maintaining records and confidential data storage. The post holder is expected to have knowledge and experience in the approvals process, including ethical and governance review. This position requires an enthusiastic and flexible individual.
Essential criteria
- Degree or equivalent knowledge
- The ability to work effectively with senior clinical and academic staff
- Comprehensive IT skills including word, excel, access, powerpoint, internet and any relevant computer packages
- Experience of managing information systems
- Using relevant electronic systems to extract information into usable report formats
- Demonstrable experience of administrative working and procedure
- Understanding of professional statistical issues
- Experience of data entry and validation techniques and the ability to develop and maintain databases
- Relevant experience working in the health service and research environment
- Awareness of the standards of ICH-GCP guidelines and the Research Governance Framework
- Able to pay attention to detail
- Ability to analyse complex information, interpret and/or present in a clear, comprehensive format
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Team player with the ability to multi-task, be decisive and use own judgement
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to draft minutes and meeting agendas
- Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage own work priority
- Highly professional approach to work, in particular in dealing with confidential information
- Effective time management skills

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen within the Research & Innovation Team based at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for a Research & Innovation Administrator. The primary location for the post is on the Aintree Site but there may be a requirement for the post holder to also work from the Royal Liverpool site on occasions. The post demands an enthusiastic and flexible person for 37.5 hours per week to provide comprehensive administrative support.
Main duties of the job
You will work alongside the research teams and will be responsible for providing administrative support within the Approvals team. This involves ensuring effective systems are put in place to maintain records and store data confidentially research data. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate some knowledge and experience regarding the approvals process to include ethical and governance review.
