Role summary
This senior clinical leadership role involves leading the delivery and development of early phase dementia and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) clinical trials. The post holder will ensure compliance with clinical trial regulations and provide clinical and operational leadership to the research nursing team. Essential criteria
- Registered Adult or Mental Health Nurse (NMC).
- Current ICH-Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
- Minimum 5 years' post-registration nursing experience, including NHS experience.
- Experience working with people living with dementia, neurodegenerative conditions, psychiatry, mental health conditions or older adults.
- Demonstrable experience of training staff in clinical skills and formally assessing, documenting and signing off their competence against defined standards.
- Demonstrable experience of overseeing clinical standards across a team, including supervising and supporting junior staff, and leading clinical audit to monitor and improve quality.
- Competent in medication administration (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular and intravenous).
- Competent in venepuncture, cannulation, ECG recording and biological sample collection/processing.
