Role summary
This role is for an experienced and motivated nurse to join and develop the Children's Environmental Health Clinic at The Royal London Hospital. The specialist will provide expert assessment, care coordination, and practical support for children whose health is affected by environmental exposures. They will manage a patient cohort, coordinate care across services, and contribute to home visits, multidisciplinary assessments, and service development. The position focuses on independent cohort management, MDT working, pathway development, and cross-setting coordination.

- oDegree in Nursing BSc
- oLevel 3 safeguarding training
- oGCP Training

- oEPLS /APLS
- oSpecialist course in respiratory nursing or asthma
- oSignificant post registration experience
- oExperience of working within paediatrics.
- oExperience of caseload management.
- oExperience of working in a multidisciplinary team.
- oExperience of using clinical judgement to assess, plan and evaluate care.
- oExperience of working within paediatric research studies
- oExperience of working in the community setting.
- oExperience of supporting children with respiratory conditions.
- oExperience of working with students and supporting learning needs.
- oExperience of research or audit activity.
- oExperience of service improvement or quality improvement work.
- oAbility to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and manage clinical workload within agreed priorities.
- oCompetent IT skills, including use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- oAbility to communicate effectively with children, families and professionals.
- oAbility to prioritise, organise workload and meet deadlines.
- oProven oral and written communication skills.
- oAbility to maintain accurate and complete clinical records.
- oExperience in group teaching or public speaking.
- oAbility to audit and survey to improve clinical and non-clinical outcomes.
- oAbility to use initiative appropriately.
- oAbility to contribute to service development.

Job summary
Are you passionate about improving children's health and reducing the impact of environmental exposures on illness and wellbeing? We are seeking an experienced, innovative and highly motivated nurse to join and help develop our Children's Environmental Health Clinic at The Royal London Hospital.
This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in delivering specialist care for children and young people whose health may be affected by environmental exposures in the home, school or wider community. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide expert assessment, care coordination and practical support for children with complex needs, while helping to shape and develop this growing specialist service.
The successful candidate will manage a defined patient cohort and play a central role in coordinating care across hospital, community and partner services. This will include undertaking home visits, contributing to multidisciplinary assessment and care planning, coordinating referrals, supporting follow-up, and helping families to understand and reduce environmental risks that may be affecting their child's health. These responsibilities are adapted from the attached role's focus on independent cohort management, MDT working, pathway development and cross-setting coordination.
