Role summary
This role is for a motivated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join a supportive team in Epping. The successful candidate will deliver specialist stroke and neurological speech and language therapy to adult patients within an inpatient service and the Early Supported Discharge Team. The caseload includes in-patient, domiciliary, and clinic-based activity, focusing on stroke rehabilitation. The post holder will also assist in service development, supervise junior colleagues, support students, and deliver training.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver specialist stroke and neurological speech and language therapy.
- Provide care to adult patients who have had a recent stroke or are diagnosed with a neurological condition.
- Conduct person-centred, goals-focused assessment and intervention.
- Assist in service development, including supervision of junior colleagues.
- Support students on placement and deliver education and training programmes.
Essential criteria
- Degree qualification
- Previous experience with adult caseload
- Post graduate dysphagia training
- Can demonstrate excellent written and spoken English
- Good verbal communication skills
- Established knowledge of assessment and intervention

Job summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our innovative, supportive team in Epping.
The successful candidate will deliver specialist stroke and neurological speech and language therapy as a member of the Stroke Early Supported Discharge Team, providing care to adult patients who have had a recent stroke or are diagnosed with a neurological condition as part of the specialist in-patient service (Beech Ward, St Margarets Hospital) and Early Supported Discharge Team (community). The caseload will include in-patient, domiciliary and clinic based activity, with a focus on stroke rehabilitation.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be based at St Margaret's Hospital, Epping but will be required to provide services across West Essex.
The successful candidate will deliver person centred, goals-focused assessment and intervention to an adult stroke and neurology caseload, both within the inpatient unit and in patients' own homes.
The successful candidate will assist in service development, including supervision of more junior colleagues, supporting students on placement, and delivering education and training programmes to the multidisciplinary team.
