Role summary
This role is for a compassionate psychologist (clinical/forensic/counselling) to join the Middlesbrough MHSOP community mental health team on a 10-month fixed-term contract. The post involves neuro-psychological testing for diagnostics, clinical leadership to embed psychological understanding, and providing psychological interventions for older adults in a secondary care setting. The successful candidate will also supervise staff, engage in audits, teaching, and training, and work with a diverse population including those with mental health, learning disability, autism, and neurological difficulties.
Essential criteria
- Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
- Trained in clinical supervision (within agreed timescale)
- Trained in care co-ordination (within agreed timescale)
- Evidence of continuing professional development

- Registration with BPS

- Utilise appropriate clinical governance mechanisms within own work
- Use approved breakaway techniques
- Demonstrate effective keyboard skills
- Skills in using multimedia materials in presentations

Job summary
We are looking for a compassionate psychologist (clinical/ forensic/ counselling) to join us at our Middlesbrough MHSOP community mental health team in TEWV NHS Trust (fixed term - 10 months)
The post would suit an enthusiastic Psychologist, valuing the opportunity to work collaboratively with members of a well-established multi-disciplinary team, where psychology is a core treatment offer. A key part of this role will be using neuro psychological testing to assist in diagnostics with our organic pathway, clinical leadership skills to influence teams to embed formulations, psychological understanding and psychological interventions in both the functional and organic service lines.
As a service, we are keen to support and invest in the ongoing development of our Psychologists through CPD opportunities, so an interest in developing clinical skills across a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches is essential. The Psychologist would have the opportunity to gain experience working with a diverse population that includes male and female mental health, learning disability, autism and older adults, including those who may have experienced trauma and/ or neurological difficulties.
