Role summary
This role seeks a highly motivated music therapist to deliver group and individual music therapy to service users in Ealing, focusing on both brief and longer interventions. The successful candidate will work autonomously across trust and community premises, building relationships with mental health teams and community resources. They will be managed by a Head of Arts Therapies and contribute to developing the service and supervising trainees. The role requires a passion for creativity in health and collaborative risk management.

- Health and Care Professions Council registrant
- MA in music therapy
Desirable criteria
- Training in another psychological therapies modality e.g. Mentalization Based Therapy.
- Experience of providing Individual & group clinical music therapy post qualification
- Experience of work in a community mental health setting
- Experience of working in a multi-cultural service
- Experience of work in MDT setting and communicating complex information therein
- Experience of personal therapy
- Experience and understanding of a wide range of musical processes and equipment
- Experience of assessing and formulating risk and supporting a reduction in risk
- Experience of participating in reflective practice, case formulation meetings or team debriefs.
- Experience of providing music therapy in a community setting
- Lived experience of mental health difficulties.
- Experience of work with interpreters

Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated music therapist to provide group and individual music therapy to service users in the borough of Ealing, comprising both brief and longer interventions. We are looking for a practitioner who is passionate about the role of creativity in supporting people's health and autonomy and who manages risk in a collaborative way.
You will work autonomously across trust and community premises, building effective and productive relationships with Ealing mental health teams and non-statutory community resources. You will be managed by a Head of Arts Therapies, and you have links to arts therapies across the wider trust. The arts therapies are an established part of provision West London NHS Trust's psychological therapies provision and links with psychology are strong.
Tuesdays are a core team day for the arts therapies, so the postholder will be expected to work Tuesdays .
Main duties of the job
The postholder will offer interventions within defined timescales, encompassing both brief, low intensity and some longer, high intensity interventions. Knowledge of trauma informed practice is essential, and you will be implementing trauma informed approaches for a range of presentations.
