Role summary
This role is for a Public Health Nurse to join the Healthy Child Programme 0-19 team, working within a defined area to assess health needs, delegate tasks, and implement care programmes for children and families. The postholder will develop skills to provide a child-centred, inclusive, and accessible Public Health programme. The role focuses on promoting physical and emotional well-being, early intervention, health promotion, and reducing health inequalities for children and young people up to 19 years of age.
Essential criteria
- The clinical skills to identify, respond to and evaluate health needs
- Commitment to the development of excellent services, which focus on improved outcomes for children
- Current knowledge of local and national policies informing the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme
- Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to act upon the principles and practice of health promotion
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents and partner agencies
Desirable criteria
- Experience delivering healthcare interventions via digital platforms
- Ability to use SystmOne
- Qualifications and Training
- Current NMC Registration
- Evidence of Degree level study in the last 2 years (or willingness to works towards)
- Mentor/998 or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience of working in a multidisciplinary setting
- Experience of Safeguarding adults and/or children
- Experience of Mentoring
- Experience of working in the community
- Experience working with children and their families
