Role summary
This Assistant Psychologist role supports the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) within CAMHS. The post holder will provide clinical work under supervision, assist with administration, audits, data collection, and research projects. They will contribute to psychologically informed care, develop clinical resources, and support service evaluation and development. The role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to promote positive outcomes for children and young people.
Essential criteria
- A degree in Psychology that is accredited by the British Psychological Society and confers the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society or Equivalent experience.
- Eligibility for Graduate membership of the BPS
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a CRHT
- Graduate level knowledge of psychological research methodology and statistical analysis.
- Good knowledge of SPSS and Excel.
- Academic research (ideally clinical-based, or relevant academic research setting).
- Experience in Mental Health settings, preferably with Children and Young People
- Experience of delivering guided self-help interventions.
- Experience of delivering evidence based psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist
- SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
- Research methods and report writing
- Proven experience using SPSS and/or other statistical software.
- Post-graduate experience of conducting research projects or audits.
- PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work with a degree of independence
- Ability to work in a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills (sensitivity and respect of ethical research and clinical practice).
- Well-developed IT skills including entry and analysis of research data
- Ability to manage emotionally stressful situations such as working with victims of abuse or trauma, or with people who engage in severe self-harming or aggressive behaviour
- Skills in supporting and teaching of colleagues

Job summary
To provide support to the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT).
To provide clinical work as required by the service, under the direct guidance, close clinical and professional supervision of a practitioner psychologist.
