Role summary
This role is for an enthusiastic and innovative Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist to join Hampshire CAMHS. You will provide high-quality, specialist psychotherapy services to children, young people, and their families, working with complex presentations. The position involves managing a clinical caseload, providing psychoanalytically informed consultation, and contributing to team culture and processes. The Trust offers a comprehensive supervision package and opportunities for professional development.
Key responsibilities
- Provide a high quality, specialist child psychotherapy service to children, young people, their families, or carers.
- Support psychological practice within the team through psychoanalytically informed consultation, supervision, formulation, and training.
- Work with complex presentations suitable for child psychotherapy, utilising a high level of knowledge and experience.
- Be responsible for holding and managing a clinical caseload.
- Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the planning and prioritising of own workload and the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients.
- Support the team with aspects of generic CAMHS work including contacting parents of young persons to respond to clinically relevant cases and to update care plans and risk accordingly.
Essential criteria
- Recognized postgraduate level training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy conferring eligibility for full membership of the Association of Child Psychotherapists.
- Professionally registered with the Association of Child Psychotherapists
- Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
