Role summary

This is a permanent Administrator role within the Bristol East & Central Public Health Nursing Admin Team. The successful candidate will need excellent IT and communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships. The role involves responding to client enquiries, making appointments, data input, and managing staff diaries. There are multiple part-time posts available across different locations.

Key responsibilities

  • Responding to client enquires via written, face to face or via the telephone.
  • Making appointments on behalf of the Public Health Nursing team as per service admin processes.
  • Inputting of data specific to the Public Health Nursing Service, using appropriate IT resources and templates.
  • Electronic Filing within client records.
  • Managing staff diaries and daily tasks using EMIS.
  • Working effectively as a whole service admin team which involves supporting admin colleagues during periods of absence.

Essential criteria

  • Good standard of education at GCSE level (9-4/A-C) including English language and Maths or equivalent.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, ordering systems and data collection.
  • Previous Administration experience dealing with telephone enquiries, correspondence and office administration.
  • Evidence organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Experience and understanding of dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience of team working
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbally.
  • Ability to maintain relevant records and information systems.
  • Able to solve day to day problems and demonstrates a methodical approach to work organisation.

Desirable criteria

  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent in Business Administration or other relevant subject, or experience obtained in a relevant role. Willingness to undertake further essential training
  • Typing qualification to RSA Level 2
  • Experience of working in a Healthcare or community setting
  • Knowledge of patient administration systems, such as EMIS, Microsoft and Power BI.
  • An understanding of Equality and Diversity policies.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the Data Protection Act and understanding of the compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018.
  • Knowledge and awareness of Health & Safety.
