Key responsibilities

- To provide leadership for junior/non-registered staff as appropriate to the post, through supervision and appraisal, delegating responsibilities as appropriate.

- To undertake more complex assessment of patients as an autonomous practitioner using clinical reasoning skills, knowledge of evidence-based practice and professional expertise. Determine appropriate care plans utilising expert treatment skills and options.
Essential criteria
- Current Registration with HCPC as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience of working in NHS as a registered occupational therapist
- Experience of managing own caseload and discharge planning
- Relevant clinical experience in different specialities
- Good communicator
- Team player and ability to lead

Job summary
The Abingdon Emergency Multidisciplinary Unit (Abingdon EMU) provides Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) to patients in the community. We are a Multidisciplinary (MDT) consisting of doctors, nurses, paramedics, physios and occupational therapists aiming to provide holistic care to medically unwell patients in the community and avoid hospital admission.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team and help develop our service.
This role is based within an ambulatory unit, as well as working with inpatients for assessment of ongoing rehabilitation and discharge planning.
This is a full time or part time role minimum of 28.5 hrs per week. working shifts including some weekend working.
