Role summary

This is an internal-only, fixed-term maternity cover position for a Band 3 Business Support Administrator within the Children's Specialist Team at Springboard Child Development Centre. The role involves providing administrative support to Paediatric Consultants and therapists, handling general admin duties such as phones, post, filing, typing, and managing emails and correspondence. The successful candidate will work as part of a busy administrative team, ensuring organisational deadlines are met.

Essential criteria

  • RSA III Word/text processing or equivalent
  • NVQ II or III in Administration or relevant experience
  • Willingness to undertake training as required
  • Good general attainment of educational standards

Desirable criteria

  • ECDL or equivalent
  • 3 GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics
  • Competent Audio transcription
  • Understanding of secretarial duties required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft IT systems and IT databases
  • Knowledge of medical terms
  • Experience of working within a health care setting
  • Knowledge of specific health care databases i.e. CPAS, CCH2000
  • Skills & Aptitudes
  • Ability to deal with service users, carers in understanding efficient & effective manner
  • Proven file management skills - electronic & paper
  • Ability to organise meetings, i.e. prepare Agendas and distribute minutes
  • Good verbal communication with a variety of individuals in a wide range of circumstances
  • Good team working skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Minute Taking
  • Flexible approach
  • Experience of working across cultures and religions
  • Reliable
  • Good time keeping
  • Well presented
  • Willingness to provide cover for other admin staff when the occasion arises

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust are seeking a Band 3 Administrator to work within the busy Children's Specialist Team at Springboard Child Development Centre.

The post will include general admin duties including phones, post, filing, typing and cover within the teams as and when required.

Main duties of the job

To provide administrative support to the Paediatric Consultants, Paediatric therapists and work as part of the busy Administrative Team, including, telephone contact, cross cover and workload.

To receive and deal with emails, hard copy correspondence and distribute onwards as appropriate.

To receive telephone enquiries with tact and discretion.

Typing - to ensure that organisational deadlines and priorities are achieved.
