Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Band 5 Radiographer to join the Radiology team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. The role involves working unsupervised in designated imaging areas, undertaking equipment quality assurance, and vetting imaging requests. The successful candidate will rotate through CT and partake in out-of-hours service, including night shifts and weekends. Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious Band 5 Radiographer, who likes a challenge, to join the Radiology team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

The successful applicant will join our team of Radiographers where we will provide opportunities for you to develop your career. We offer a great working environment, investing in training and new equipment, but our greatest asset is our highly skilled, patient focused and friendly team. As a Band 5 Radiographer you will also benefit from rotation through CT.

This post will be based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital but the successful applicant may work cross-site as required. The successful candidate will be expected to partake in the out of hours service, including nights shifts and weekends.There are dedicated staff and training facilities in each Department and an active audit/teaching programme. The departments also provide clinical placements for under graduate students. We are keen to develop and train staff and support radiographer role extension.

Main duties of the job

  • To work unsupervised in designated areas of imaging, asking advice when necessary and following protocols as appropriate.
  • To undertake equipment quality assurance in line with QA Programme.
  • Vet and accept imaging requests.
  • Use imaging appropriate to the patients' condition.
  • Undertake plain film examin
