Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Advanced Orthoptist to join an expanding team at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Ealing Hospital. The role involves working autonomously in new patient clinics, diagnosing and managing complex ocular motility disorders, and making appropriate onward referrals. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across various sub-speciality clinics.
Essential criteria
- HCPC registered
- Diploma or degree in Orthoptics
Desirable criteria
- Higher qualifications / working towards higher qualification
- Significant clinical experience in orthoptic NHS setting, involving sub-specialist clinics
- Experience of diagnosis and management of complex ocular motility disorders
- Experience of clinical governance in relation to own area of practice
- Knowledge and Skills
- Evidence of Continuous Personal Developement
- Development of teaching materials

Do you want to work in a supportive team with nationally recognised experts in their field?
If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated Orthoptist to join our expanding team as an Advanced Orthoptist and also support our new community service at Ealing Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The role will be based at Moorfields Eye Hospital (City Road) and Ealing Hospital (minimum one day per week). The successful candidate will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team across a range of sub-speciality clinics including botulinum toxin, motility, paediatric, adnexal, neurology and orthoptic-optometric led services.
The candidate will be expected to work autonomously in new patient clinics and be experienced to be able to be able to make appropriate onward referrals.
