Role summary
This is a full-time Band 6 Senior Community Mental Health Practitioner role within the Single Point of Access team in Barnsley. The successful applicant will conduct initial assessments for service users referred to secondary care mental health services, manage their own caseload, and participate in the team duty rota. The role requires excellent risk assessment skills and confidence in decision-making for complex mental health conditions, working both independently in community settings and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Flexible working patterns are available, with service operations from Monday to Friday and weekends.
Essential criteria
- Significant experience of working within a mental health setting.

- RMN Current NMC registration.
- Social Worker/Occupational Therapist-current Social Work England/HCPC registration.
- Experience of mentoring/supporting learners or ability to demonstrate the skills required for effective mentoring.
- Practice Education/Practice Assessor Preparation Certificate.
