Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an Ophthalmic Photographer to join the busy Ophthalmology team at Countess of Chester Hospital. The role involves providing a comprehensive diagnostic Ophthalmic photography service to patients. The successful candidate will undertake a wide range of duties, deliver efficient technical services using various equipment, and manage their own patient workload. They will also maintain records and mentor junior staff as required.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake a wide range of duties with respect to ophthalmic photography for the ophthalmology department.
- Deliver an efficient, professional, skilled and broad range of technical services for the ophthalmology department using a wide range of equipment.
- Undertake your own workload of patients and maintain associated records.
- Mentor junior staff where required.
- Attend additional training when required and maintain CPD.
Essential criteria
- BSc Medical Illustration / science degree or equivalent
- 2 years clinical experience working within Medical Photography (including ophthalmic photography) - evidence required.
- Recent NHS experience working in a relevant clinical field.
- State registration - ACHS/OIA
- Computer literacy including knowledge and experience using photo manipulation and graphics software e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud on PC and/or MAC
- Ability to use a range of ophthalmic imaging equipment.
Desirable criteria
- Photographic / media related qualification (BA Hons / HND) or relevant experience
- IMI membership
- Experience of research and audit

Main duties of the job
