Role summary
The D&I Systems Operations Lead will manage and oversee the Systems Operations team, ensuring optimal performance and functionality of the server estate. This role involves managing infrastructure projects, leading technical teams, and ensuring compliance with technical strategies and policies. The lead will also be responsible for problem, incident, and change management processes, and will participate in an on-call rota. Primarily remote working with some on-site duties.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a team of Systems Operations Engineers, coordinating design, development, support, and maintenance of systems infrastructure.
- Ensure application of security patches, server upgrades, migrations, and daily maintenance tasks.
- Assist with the implementation of systems and tools used by the Systems Operations section.
- Support D&I's Problem Management function, ensuring problems are dealt with appropriately and within SLA timescales.
- Ensure the Systems Operations team performs all relevant compliance checks and controls.
- Act as Deputy/System Manager and/or Product Expert for Systems Operations related tools and information systems.
Essential criteria
- Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant demonstrable experience
- Demonstrable experience in leading technical teams from inception to delivery of projects and new systems
- Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent relevant demonstrable experience
- Networking: being able to work within the Trusts, with other NHS Trusts, national forums and technology specific groups
- oMicrosoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent relevant demonstrable experience
Desirable criteria
- Equivalent demonstrable experience in managing enterprise class server infrastructure
- Previous demonstrable employment in a technical leadership role.
- Demonstrable experience of project management/technical leadership

Job summary
