Role summary
An experienced medical secretary is sought to join the Cardiology department. Essential criteria
- Good general education to include GCSE English or equivalent

- RSA III word processing or equivalent
- Secretarial/clerical background
- Audio typing experience

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
- Knowledge of patient administration and other related systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of the wider team
- Ability to prioritise workload in response to service need
- Knowledge of the Hospital EPR system
- RTT & pathways

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced medical secretary to join our team within the Cardiology department.
You will work alongside the existing administrative team to provide comprehensive and efficient secretarial support.

The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise your own workload is essential. We are looking for a secretary with high standards and an eye for detail. You must have the ability to multi-task and work in a busy, ever changing environment.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will need to demonstrate good communication skills, flexibility, reliability and have an organised approach to work. Working as part of a team of Medical Secretaries, you will support with the management of waiting lists, typing of clinical letters, theatre scheduling, clinic utilisation along with daily office duties as required by the clinical team.
