Role summary
This role involves supporting Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to provide high-standard care to ward-based patients. You will assist in implementing and progressing rehabilitation programmes, enabling patients to achieve independence in daily activities. Key responsibilities

- To work with the Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and ward staff in the implementation and progression of rehabilitation programmes.
- To enable patients to achieve their optimum level of independence in mobility and activities of daily living.
- To be actively involved in the continuation of rehabilitation programmes during weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.
- Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team assisting with specified duties and to take responsibility for planning his/her own work duties.
Essential criteria
- Able to present clear written communication
- GCSE English Grade C or above (4 or above in new scale)
- GCSE Mathematics Grade C or above (4 or above in new scale)
- Foundation degree, NVQ relevant competency framework, or equilavent
- Experience of working in an enabling or caring environment
- Demonstrates good organisation skills
- Demonstrates team working skills
- Holding a full current UK driving licence for a manual car
Desirable criteria
- Has a qualification in a relevant computer skill
- First aid certificate
- Experience of leading or supporting group work
- Demonstrates ability to use initiative
- Provided an example of being resilient / managing own stress

You will work along side Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and other support staff. This team will support in providing you 'on the job training' based on a structured competency framework.
Within this job role you will have the opportunity to rotate between several areas within the acute hospital inpatient setting. These ward areas include Medicine, Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Stroke, Orthopaedic and Long-term Conditions.
