Key responsibilities
- Carry out all relevant forms of nursing care and patient management for children aged from birth to 16 years.

- Provide and maintain specific clinical skills, such as allergy testing, diabetes control testing, EpiPen training, and recording observations.

Essential criteria
- RN CHILD
- Knowledge and experience of providing nursing care for children within an acute Paediatric Out-patient department/ward
- Working with children/young people and families, within a multicultural environment
- Experience or knowledge of safeguarding children
- Knowledge of evidenced based practice

Job summary
To provide effective clinical and holistic individualised family centred care to the patients and families during their out-patient appointment, ensuring delivery is to the highest standard. Maintaining evidenced based practice is performed at all times, being responsible for updating own knowledge and skills in line with the Trust polices, multidisciplinary team and the NMC Code. Developing leadership skills, actively participating in service development.
Main duties of the job
Carry out all relevant forms of nursing care and patient management for children aged from birth to 16 years (this may be extended for children with chronic/complex conditions)
Participate in the supervision and teaching of new members of staff including nursing students and paramedics
Provide and maintain high standard of clinical effective nursing cares at all times
To provide and maintain specific clinical skills, allergy testing, diabetes control testing, EpiPen training, recording observations if required. Therefore, assisting in the provision of a safe, efficient service.
Venepuncture for the under 1s Phlebotomy clinic carried out weekly on Fridays.
Reporting and recording accidents and untoward incidents according to Trust Policy and Guidelines
