Role summary

This role involves carrying out routine and non-complex electrical maintenance activities within the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust. You will perform planned preventative maintenance, minor repairs to electrical systems, and PAT testing. The role also includes supporting the electrical craft team and undertaking general maintenance tasks, often in potentially hazardous areas. You will participate in engineering planned maintenance schemes and may be required to work overtime or undertake 'On Call' duties.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out routine and non-complex work activities.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with Trust procedures.
  • Carry out minor works and repairs to Electrical systems.
  • Carry out PAT testing of Electrical equipment.
  • Carry out replacement of lighting, fire detection, nurse call and other electrical equipment.
  • Support and assist the Electrical craft team in their duties as required.

Essential criteria

  • Good basic education GCSE qualification or equivalent in Maths and English
  • C&G Level 2 Electrical Qualification or similar
  • All round knowledge of maintenance of buildings or similar environments.
  • Electrical Maintenance skills
  • Familiarity with system testing procedures
  • Experience of working in a Healthcare Environment
  • Must be able to interpret and follow work instructions
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills. Computer literate.
  • Must demonstrate by experience the ability to use tools accurately and confidently.

  • C & G Level 3 Electrical Qualification or similar
