Role summary
This role is for a highly motivated Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) to join the North Tyneside Talking Therapies Service. The post-holder will provide high-volume low-intensity psychological interventions, including CBT-based self-management techniques, to clients experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression. Interventions will be delivered through various modalities such as digital, video, face-to-face, telephone, and groups. The service operates Monday-Friday with one evening shift, offering a flexible working arrangement between home and office, but not remote-only.
Essential criteria
- Qualification from Low Intensity PWP Training Course (Post Graduate Certificate in mental health) or equivalent PWP apprenticeship qualification)
- Professional registration with BABCP/BPS - Post holder will be expected to complete this within 6 months of appointment.
Desirable criteria
- IAPT Low Intensity Supervision Qualification
- Experience & Knowledge
- Experience of working in the local community
- Evidence of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem.
- Experience of delivering Low Intensity Interventions in an IAPT model.
- Experience of assessing patient's suitability for IAPT therapies.
- Experience of working in a service with agreed targets in place - demonstrating clinical outcomes
- Received training (either formal or through experience) and carried out risk assessments within scope of practice
- Experience of working in Primary Care Services
- Experience of peer supervising PWP's delivering Low Intensity Interventions
- Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools
- Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods
- It is desirable that the post holder has a valid driving license and is either a car owner and able to use the car for work purposes or has a Trust personal lease vehicle which may be used for the role. However, the Trust would consider making reasonable adjustments to the role, if necessary, to enable a disabled person to undertake the role

North Tyneside Talking Therapies service currently operates Monday- Friday including one evening (until 19:30) shift on a Wednesday or Thursday per week. Currently the service offers a flexible working arrangement between at home and in office working (60% in office minimum expected). However this is not contractual and may be subject to change based on patient needs). The contractual role expectation is to work from venues within North Tyneside. This post DOES NOT offer remote only working.
