Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and skilled Mental Health Practitioner (Band 6) or Community Mental Health Nurse to join the City East Local Mental Health Team. The role involves providing mental health services for adults, assessing and implementing personalised recovery plans, and managing complex cases within a dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The service operates Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, and requires a confident, experienced clinician.
Key responsibilities
- Caseload management under the Care Programme Approach.
- Initial assessments and one-to-one interventions with service users.
- Undertake and record comprehensive need/risk assessments, devise and implement treatment plans.
- Establish and maintain robust communication networks with clients, carers, and other healthcare/social care workers.
- Use interpersonal skills in diffusing potentially emotive situations while undertaking assessments and pathway planning.
- Demonstrate high level communication skills.
Essential criteria
- Professional Qualification (Mental Health) to degree level or equivalent
- Maintains current registration with the NMC or equivalent registration
- Practice based educator qualification or equivalent (or prepared to undertake training)
- Further specialist knowledge/post registration experience in specific service area or other formal training.
- Ability to work as part of an MDT
- Good skills in assessment, intervention and evaluation of service users care
- IT skills
- Ability to prioritise work
- Interpersonal skills
- Clinical supervision skills
- Working within a mental health clinical setting
- Specialist and area specific experience.
- Demonstrates satisfactory clinical expertise for the banding.
- Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and understanding of clinical risk assessments
- Knowledge of Code of Practice
- Willingness to undertake new clinical practices, education and training that will enhance service delivery.
- A full UK driving license and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010
- Ability to work to meet the needs to the service (including unsocial hours and bank holidays)
