Role summary
This is an opportunity for a compassionate, dynamic, and motivated ITU Staff Nurse to join an 8-bedded ITU/HDU at George Eliot Hospital. The role involves delivering high-standard nursing care, undertaking patient observations, and maintaining effective communication within the multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will benefit from an orientation and induction program, following a competency-based education pathway, and will have the opportunity to undertake a Critical Care course.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver a high standard of nursing care without direct supervision, based upon a sound evidence base to maintain patient safety and provide a good patient experience.
- Undertake record and interpret patient observations, ensuring that the nurse in charge is informed of any changes in the patients condition and action taken.
- Work within the Policies, Procedures of the Trust in line with N.M.C. Guidance.
- Create and utilise opportunities to promote health and well-being of patients in their care.
- Maintain a good standard of communication with the multi-disciplinary team and respect the confidentiality of patients, relatives and colleagues.

- RGN
- Degree
- Experience in an acute Trust
- Ability to recognise patient deterioration
- Ability to deal with emergency situations
