Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Critical Care Unit at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. The role involves caring for critically ill Level 2 and 3 patients in a 36-bedded state-of-the-art facility. Successful candidates will receive 8 weeks of supernumerary status with a mentor and supervisor, structured induction, and support for competency booklets and critical care courses. The unit provides care for various medical and surgical specialities, including neurosurgery and major trauma.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high quality care and support to patients and families as part of the wider Critical Care team.
- Work a full rotation on both days and nights to fulfil job role and learning requirements.
- Deliver high quality nursing care within a highly motivated team.
Essential criteria
- 1st Level RN
- NMC Registration
- Acute nursing experience within a UK hospital within last 12 months
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of further relevant study
- Experience in Level 2/3 area
