- RPSGT
- Registration with RCCP, ACHS or HCPC
- Ability to perform a wide range of pulmonary function tests
- Ability to perform a wide range of sleep diagnostic tests
- Ability to set up CPAP therapy on OSA patients, troubleshoot and follow up
- Ability to analyse information
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritise own workload in relation to the priorities of the department
- Ability to pay close attention to detail in verbal, written and electronic communication
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure a high-quality service
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Possess a willingness to learn

Job summary
The role of the Healthcare Scientist is to provide a high quality, patient focused, efficient Respiratory Physiology service within Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The role is expected to work alongside the administrators in the sleep and CPAP teams in a cross cover model.
This role involves following departmental operating procedures to provide a patient focused, high quality, efficient and complete required diagnostic and follow up lung function testing. You will be working within a multidisciplinary team and support routine clinical service.
Main duties of the job
Communication -- ability to demonstrate excellent customer care skills, greeting patients visiting the Heart & Lung Department according to trust values, assisting flow through the department. To ensure that patients and visitors receive a friendly and professional service, always demonstrate patient confidentiality. Contribute to departmental discussions and work towards Directorate and Trust objectives, participate in service and cost improvement programmes.
Administrative -- demonstrate planning, good organisational and prioritising skills, assist with elements of local induction for new starters. Day to day diary management using departmental computer programmes, deal with internal and external correspondence, coordinate patient activity through the department, liaise with phy
