Role summary
Axess sexual health is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join their friendly and dynamic service. The role involves working across community clinic locations, supporting nurses, doctors, and fellow HCAs in providing safe, confidential, and patient-centred care. Responsibilities include assisting with clinical tasks, managing fast-track clinics, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring a clean environment. This position offers the opportunity to develop skills in sexual health pathways and make a meaningful difference to the community.
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- NVQ2 (healthcare)
- Care Certificate or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of working at or ability to achieve NVQ 3 Level
- Demonstrable experience working at Band 2 within a healthcare setting
- Previous experience of working with the public and/ or young people
- Previous experience of working in other areas of sexual health or related services
- Knowledge and Skills
- General understanding of sexual health
- Good Interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to communicate well with vulnerable people from varying backgrounds and abilities and liaise with the multi-disciplinary teams.
- Evidence of ability to relate to the needs of young people
- Ability to work flexibly within a changing/evolving organisation
- Ability to work unsupervised, under own initiative and to self-motivate
- Willingness to undertake expanded roles including venepuncture, basic sample collection, point of care testing (e.g. pregnancy testing) microscopy and other tasks necessary to development of role following appropriate training
- Knowledge of Child Protection / Vulnerable adult issues
- Understanding of confidentiality
- Other

- IT skills (e-mail, Outlook, Microsoft Word)

Job summary
Axess sexual health is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic service. We are seeking someone with a genuine interest in** sexual health** who is committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive and patient-centred care. The role includes working across a range of community clinic locations, so flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential.
As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will support nurses, doctors and fellow HCAs in providing safe, confidential care. You will help ensure the smooth running of walk-in and appointment-based clinics, assist with clinical tasks, and maintain excellent infection-control standards. You will also support patients with reassurance, information and signposting, helping them feel respected and well cared for.
We are looking for someone with a positive, proactive attitude who is confident in fast-paced clinical environments. Strong communication skills, a non-judgemental approach and a commitment to learning are essential.
