Role summary
This role supports the Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies Manager in managing the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of clinical and non-clinical supplies across BHRUT sites and North East London. The post holder will handle logistics for items like consumables, pathology samples, theatre equipment, and pharmacy medication, utilizing various systems including manual, automated, and vehicular transport. This involves working across multiple Trust sites and supporting operational and strategic procurement logistics initiatives, including AIMS/Omnicell.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies Manager in efficient receipting, storage, and distribution of clinical and non-clinical supplies.
- Manage logistical distribution of items such as clinical consumables, pathology samples, theatre equipment, pharmacy medication, medical records, post, equipment, and furniture.
- Facilitate movement of staff and key partner stakeholders using shuttle buses and taxi services.
- Operate manual, automated, and vehicular systems (cars, vans, heavy goods lifting machinery) and apply Just In Time (JIT) methodology.
- Work across all key Trust sites and North-East London (NEL) to support operational and strategic procurement logistics initiatives.
- Provide operational and administrative support for AIMS / Omnicell systems.
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE standard, specifically in English or equivalent qualificationsor experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development across the spectrum of commercial procurement; specificallyacross Commercial Procurement Logistics and Supplies.
- A valid manual driving licence (in accordance with BHRUTinsurance requirements, internal policies and DVLA requirements) and ability to drive cars, small vans and large 3.5 tonne vans (Category B and all future requirements for this category as prescribed by the DVLA or superseding UK Government bodies oand/or legislation).
- Able to effectively work in both a team and a matrix structure within the service and organisation-wide.
- Experience of persuading and influencing stakeholders.
- Demonstrates a strong desire to improve performance and make a difference by focusing on outcomes and supporting transformational projects and programmes.
- Ability to work on own initiative and organise own workloadwithout supervision and to prioritise work of self and others, either directly or indirectly in a matrix structure.
