Role summary
This is an opportunity for a dynamic Health Visitor to join the Oxford City South locality on a part-time basis. The role involves working in the integrated 0-19 Childrens and Young People Public Health Service, delivering the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) to support children, young people, and families. You will lead the delivery of the HCP, manage a skill mix team, and provide services in homes and community settings. The position requires a full valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Essential criteria
- First Level Registered Nurse or midwife
- Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (health visiting)

- Qualified mentor
- Teaching skills and/or qualification
- Nurse Prescriber
- Post-graduate qualifications
- Experience of inter-agency working
- Evidence of current knowledge of National and Local policies and relevant research and the ability to relate it to practice
- Reflective practitioner

The new service brings together Health Visiting, School Health Nursing, and the Family Nurse Partnership, delivering the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) to provide an innovative and high-quality service that helps children, young people and families to thrive.
Health visitors, community public health nurses (previously known as community staff nurses) and community public health associates (previously known as community nursery nurses) will now be working with children up to 8 years of age where there are known concerns or vulnerabilities and will provide health related episodes of care to support with areas such as behaviour, diet, and sleep. There has also been an introduction of a new four-year health and development review to support school transition and address any school readiness concerns.
