Role summary

This role involves supervising Domestic Services staff to ensure high-quality cleaning and meal services across wards and departments, with a particular focus on evening delivery. The successful candidate will lead and support staff, maintain service standards, and oversee day-to-day operations. Flexibility and the ability to travel between sites are essential for providing support to teams at Tenby Cottage Hospital and Pembroke Dock Health Centre. This is a fixed-term opportunity until May 2027.

Essential criteria

  • Good level of general education
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience, skills and knowledge of cleaning tasks/cleaning supervision
  • Detailed Food Hygiene knowledge
  • Health & Safety, COSHH, Moving and Handling, and HACCP knowledge
  • IT Skills

Desirable criteria

  • ILM Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading or equivalent
  • Level 2 Food Safety Award
  • Coaching/Training Certificate
  • Supervisory Training
  • IOSH Certificate
  • Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control
  • Experience of dealing with general public
  • Supervisory/team leading experience
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Supervisory experience in similar establishment
  • Experience of cleaning duties
  • Other

Job summary

This post is a Fixed Term/ Secondment until 31.05.2027. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated individual who is hardworking, forward-thinking and innovative in their approach. The successful candidate will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to lead and support staff effectively while maintaining high standards of service delivery.

The post holder will be required to work 5 days on a 7-day rota between 3:00pm and 7:00pm. Flexibility to meet the needs of the service is essential. While applicants will not be required to work additional hours on a regular basis, the ability and willingness to provide occasional cover for annual leave, sickness absence, and periods of increased service demand would be advantageous.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their supervisory experience within a busy and rewarding environment. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a positive attitude, strong leadership skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
