Role summary
This role is for a dedicated Band 5 Theatre Scrub Nurse/Practitioner to join the Theatre team at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide safe and effective care to patients undergoing surgical procedures across both Main and Day Surgery Theatre suites. The role involves working autonomously, assisting surgeons, and ensuring high standards of care in a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high quality, effective, individualised care to all patients by assessing care needs and developing, implementing and evaluating them without supervision.
- Work across all specialities carried out within the department.
- Be responsible for a defined caseload as a named nurse.
- Provide assistance to the surgeons during all surgical procedures.
- Work autonomously in the theatre areas, providing knowledge and skills for surgery in the pre-operative setting.
- Participate in on call, nights on and weekend duties.
Essential criteria
- NMC / HCPC registered with Theatre/ scrub experience
- Experience of managing workload
- Experience of working in a theatre team
- Ability to demonstrates a professional attitude at all time
Desirable criteria
- NMC / HCPC registered with Theatre/ scrub experience
- Experience of teaching students and junior staff
- Good knowledge of specialty and the role of the recovery practitioner

Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Band 5 Theatre Scrub Nurse/Practitioner to join our Theatre team and play a vital role in providing safe and effective care to patients undergoing surgical procedures at Homerton.
This is an exciting time at Homerton, we have just opened our two new Day Surgery Theatres and have recently gotten a second Da Vinci Robot for theatres.The role will cover both Main and Day Surgery Theatre suites.
We are looking for applicants who are committed and motivated to provide excellent care to the patients of City and Hackney and join part of the Multidisciplinary Team.
