Role summary

This role is for a highly motivated Band 3 Clinical Service Administrator to join the friendly team at the Bluebell Unit, which cares for individuals detained under the Mental Health Act. The successful candidate will provide vital administrative support to the Ward Manager and Multidisciplinary Team, working independently and as part of a wider team. Duties include managing communications, ordering supplies, and producing documents, requiring resilience and adaptability in a busy environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administration support to the Ward Manager and wider Multidisciplinary Team.
  • Be the first point of contact for the unit, meeting and greeting service users, families, and visitors.
  • Deal with telephone enquiries and liaise with other clinical teams, third sector providers, and outside agencies.
  • Order supplies and stationery items for the unit, including using NHS supplies and non-stock ordering.
  • Type letters, produce documents, reports, and agendas, including taking minutes at various meetings.
  • Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, including medical staff, service users, and other agencies.

Essential criteria

  • NVQ3/QCF in administration or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
  • Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, Internet
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Do you like to be busy and support other staff ? An opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Clinical Service Administrator to join our friendly team. The Bluebell Unit looks after people who have been detained under the mental health act. This unit operates a 24-hour service.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, with excellent administrative skills. This varied and interesting role is providing vital administrative support to the Ward Manager and Multidisciplinary Team. You will demonstrate good initiative and judgement, as you will need to be able to work independently, as well as part of the wider team.

The unit can be very busy and challenging at times, so you will need to have a degree of resilience and be able to work well under pressure, though full support is given by AWP through peer support, regular formal supervision and access to the Employee Assist Programme.
