Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, dedicated, and enthusiastic Band 6 Physiotherapist to further their career in the MSK speciality. You will join a large, well-established, and friendly MSK team with strong links to secondary care partners. The role involves assessing and managing GP referrals via a Self-Referral Portal, offering an excellent chance to develop clinical reasoning, diagnostic, and treatment skills. The service provides robust clinical support, including appraisals, supervision, protected CPD time, and a comprehensive In-Service Training programme.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and manage GP referrals to the service via the Self-Referral Portal.
- Develop clinical reasoning, diagnostic, and treatment skills.
- Work as part of a large, well-established MSK team.
- Collaborate with therapy colleagues and health professionals in secondary and primary care.

Essential criteria
- BSc Physiotherapy Or Recognised Diploma
- HCPC Registered
- Evidence of ongoing relevant CPD in portfolio
- Broad under graduate experience in core clinical areas
- Experience of working in the NHS or with NHS patients, in a private setting, including 18months to 2years experience in MSK.
- Relevant clinical knowledge base underpinned by broader physiotherapeutic skills
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Ability to work as an autonomous practitioner
- Ability to prioritise and manage own work load in a busy environment with supervision
- Ability to process, manage and communicate sensitive information in relation to patient care and convey this in an appropriate and clear manner
- A strong commitment to patient care
- Reliable, flexible, motivated, diplomatic team worker who demonstrates appropriate initiative and good time management
- Ability to meet the demands of the post including occasional travel
Desirable criteria
- Attendance at relevant Post Graduate Courses
- Participation in project /audit activities.
- Supervision/teaching of students or physiotherapy assistants
- Awareness of own learning style.
