Band 3 Upper GI Surgical Secretary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced medical secretary to join our team as a medical secretary within the Upper GI surgery department. You will work alongside the existing administrative team to provide comprehensive and efficient secretarial support.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who can manage the fluctuating demands of a busy Consultant Surgeon. You will need to be flexible and have excellent organisational and communication skills. The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritise your own workload is essential. You must have the ability to multi-task and work in a busy, ever changing environment.

You will be able to work on your own initiative as well as within a team with well developed communication and interpersonal skills

Main duties of the job

As a surgical secretary, you will provide a comprehensive secretarial service to our consultant surgeons. This includes, but is not limited to, diary management, correspondence, referrals, phone calls, email management and general day-to-day office administration.
