Role summary
This role involves assisting senior procurement officers and the Assistant Director in strategic procurement duties, ensuring value for money for the Trust. Key responsibilities
- Assist and manage the procurement of Trust contracts for goods and services, working within public sector procurement policy and legal frameworks.
- Support Trust Departments and Divisions in complying with procurement legislation, UK law, and Trust Standing Financial Instructions.
- Lead a range of procurement projects to deliver against the procurement workplan and cost improvement programme.
- Prepare and issue tender documentation, evaluate and assist with negotiation of tenders, and prepare analytical summaries for contract awards.
- Liaise with stakeholders and project representatives to determine precise requirements in terms of specification and clinical/user-based needs.
- Invite competitive quotations from suppliers, analyse results, and make recommendations to end-users.
Essential criteria
- Currently hold or is in the process of achieving entry level professional procurement qualification from Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS Level 4+), or equivalent.
- Willingness to undertake any training as required by the Trust
- Experience of working under pressure to deadlines and prioritising workload
- Experience of working with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and other key IT packages
- Evidence of personal development
- Ability to manage own workload and self-motivate
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to prioritise workload in order to meet strict deadlines
- Good interpersonal skills and team player.
- Good analytical and numerical skills.

Desirable criteria
