Role summary
This role involves working as part of a team of escalation booking officers, providing comprehensive and patient-orientated service for imaging orders across various modalities. The post holder will deal with cancer and non-cancer related imaging requests, ensuring timely management aligned with Trust and National guidelines. Responsibilities include rotating within different areas/modalities and running checks to meet internal targets.
Key responsibilities
- Book and schedule imaging procedures on a rota basis, aligned to referrer order priority, ensuring patient safety.
- Discuss general health conditions and medications that may be contraindicated for certain procedures.
- Validate orders against clinical indication.
- Amend orders to reflect expected delivery times.

Job summary
The role is based at International House, Wythenshawe. The successful applicant will be required to work as part of a team of escalation booking officers who are responsible for providing a comprehensive and patient-orientated service dealing with imaging orders across a range of modalities for cancer and none cancer related reasons; supporting timely management aligned to Trust and National guidelines.
This is a multi-skilled role, and the post holder will be expected to rotate on a regular basis within different areas/modalities. The team are also responsible for running checks aligned to HIVE to ensure internal targets are met and orders are managed within HIVE as expected.
The team are supported by an assistant and a waiting list manager per modality who support initial training and guide on day-to-day expectations.
