Role summary

This role is for a Data Coordinator to join the Women's and Children's data team, specifically supporting the Paediatric Intensive Care unit. The post holder will manage data collection and submission for national and local databases, working with divisional departments to provide data for performance management and governance. It's a part-time job share position, offering a hybrid working model.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the data collection and submission of national and local databases.
  • Work with individuals across the Division to produce data sets for performance management and governance.
  • Lead on the delivery and maintenance of high quality IT systems for patient clinical data.
  • Collating and providing data to divisional departments.
  • Support clinical and administrative staff with clinical data collection and report preparation within the paediatric intensive care unit.

Essential criteria

  • IT qualification
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • Highly proficient, competent and efficient in a range of software applications such as MS Office
  • Evidence of continuous personal development of software applications such as MS Office
  • Significant NHS Experience
  • Working independently and to tight deadlines and report writing
  • Previous experience of analysing and manipulating large quantities of data along with formatting and presentation skills
  • Awareness and understanding of NHS environment
  • Experience in the use of relational databases
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
  • Sound knowledge of office procedures
  • Understanding of customer service
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • An in-depth, proficient understanding and demonstrable experience on systems analysis
  • Demonstrable advanced data-analysis skills to interrogate, interpret and present highly complex data to meet customer needs
  • In depth knowledge of the different statistical methods

Job summary

We are looking for a friendly, adaptable and well organised person to join our Women's and Children's data team, with a key focus on supporting out Paediatric Intensive Care unit. Well-developed IT skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. Previous experience in a hospital environment would be an advantage.

The post holder will support the data collection and submission of national and local databases, and work with individuals across the Division to produce data sets used for performance management, and governance purposes.

The post holder will work across 3 days a week (22.5 hours) and will be a job share with another data coordinator. A hybrid model of working from home and on-site working is possible.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead on the delivery and maintenance of high quality IT systems, to collect and maintain patient clinical data for local and national databases and billing purposes. The post holder will work with divisional departments to collate and provide data. Furthermore, the post of data coordinator will support within the paediatric intensive care unit, supporting clinical and administrative staff with clinical data collection and the preparation of reports.
