Role summary

This is an opportunity for an experienced and competent Health & Safety Advisor to join Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves working within regulatory compliance, advising on health and safety legislation, and coordinating training and support for the trust's health and safety programmes. The postholder will act as the expert advisor on health and safety, supporting risk management and quality strategies. Flexible working will be considered, but at least 3 days onsite attendance is expected.

Essential criteria

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification (level 7 equivalent in relevant field)
  • Detailed specialist knowledge of health and safety and other related legislation
  • Knowledge of auditing/evaluation techniques
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of data collection, analysis and presentation
  • Robust knowledge of NHS regulatory frameworks
  • Member of IOSH
  • Use of computer based audit software, Work, Excel, Access
  • Experienced in advising employers and staff in health and safety legislation
  • Experience in managing health and safety in an NHS environment
  • Relevant experience in Violence & Abuse, health and safety management

An opportunity has arisen for a full-time experienced competent Health & Safety Advisor at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an opportunity for a highly motivated, committed individual with health and safety experience in a designated competent person health and safety role to join our team. The postholder will be an integral team member of the health and safety team, working within regulatory compliance.

You will need to demonstrate the ability to work closely with team members from all professions and with the wider governance teams and specialist roles to proactively deliver core health and safety requirements and help coordinate training, support, monitoring and management in respect of the trust's health and safety programmes and plans.
