Role summary
This is a 7-month fixed-term opportunity for an Audiologist at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves working with children aged 4.5 years and upwards in assessment and habilitation clinics, and developing skills with preschool children. The successful candidate will be part of a welcoming team, encouraged to engage in service development, and work closely with various professionals and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities
- Work independently with children aged 4.5 years and upwards in assessment and habilitation clinics.
- Develop skills in the tester two role, working alongside senior staff in clinics with preschool children from 7 months and older.
- Engage in service development and become aware of quality improvement tools such as audit and service evaluation.
- Work closely with colleagues in the Trust, including ENT and medical staff, and external stakeholders like Teachers of the Deaf.
Essential criteria
- BSc Audiology / MSc Audiology or Diploma in Audiology / HND MPPM with BAA/BAAT parts 1 and 2, or equivalent
- Registered with AHCS /HCPC or equivalent
- Digital Hearing aid fitting
- Working in a multi professional / agency team
- Paediatric Audiology
- Ability to facilitate communication with individuals who are deaf
- Computer literate
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to communicate with deaf people
- Team player

- BSL / deaf awareness training
- Safeguarding
- Knowledge and skills framework

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust, Hearing Services for a audiologist.
The service offers a wide range of clinical experiences, the full range of paediatric assessment techniques, a paediatric balance service, offers a wide range of hearing aids including bone anchored hearing aids and middle ear implants.
We have a welcoming team of 20 staff comprising audiologists, clinical scientists, specialist paediatrician and admin staff. We are committed to training and development, and to upholding the full range of service standards to maintain IQIPS accreditation (accredited since 2016)
You will be encouraged to engage in service development and become aware of quality improvement tools such as audit and service evaluation, working alongside senior staff. The service works closely with colleagues in the Trust including ENT colleagues, medical staff, and also external stakeholders such as Teachers of the Deaf.
Applications would be considered from students who are due to graduate this year and would meet requirement for registration (AHCS/HCPC) , and also from applicants wishing to consider part time roles .
