Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join the Isle of Wight Community Mental Health Team. Key responsibilities
- Assist in the provision of a psychological service to service users accessing the community mental health team under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.
- Plan and prioritise own workload and activities following the direction, guidelines and supervision of the Clinical Psychologist.
- Undertake assessments and implement programmes of care and psychology intervention, including one to one work with clients, group interventions and psycho-educational workshops under clinical supervision.
- Work within the guidelines given by the clinical supervisor and assist in clinically related administration.
- Conduct audits, collection of statistics, development of audit/research projects and teaching projects as directed by the Clinical Psychologist.
Essential criteria
- An upper second class honours degree or higher in Psychology.
- Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
- Prior experience as an assistant psychologist, a research assistant or as an HCA or equivalent in mental health is desirable.
- Knowledge of IT systems, research design and methodology.
- Full driving licence.
Desirable criteria
- Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis.

Job summary
